Colegio Mayor San GregorioStudents will be housed in single rooms in one of the University of Oviedo Residence Halls (Colegio Mayor San Gregorio (August) or Colegio Mayor América (July) which are located in the Campus de los Catalanes very close to the University’s sports facilities and in the vicinity of Oviedo’s largest public park.
The Cathedral and Oviedo Old Quarters are just a 10 minute walk away. The neighborhood is full of grocery stores, cafés and restaurants. The Humanities Campus, where classes are held, is just a short bus ride away (transportation passes to class are provided by the program). The University of Oviedo excursion bus will pick up and drop off students at the Residence halls during the scheduled Saturday fieldtrips.
Accommodations include breakfast, to be taken at the Residence Cafeteria. Students must budget and pay for daily lunch and dinner. There are many local eateries that have take out, fast food restaurants and supermarket that sell prepared meals and salads or groceries for self catering. The Residence cafeteria serves 3 course meals for 6€ and one coure meals for 4,50 €. Student can also purchase special vouchers good for 10 three course meals (lunch/dinner) for 54€.
The room furnishings were refurbished recently and include a 90×200 cm bed, desk equipped with reading lamp and chair as well as closet space and a full bathroom.. There is a telephone in each room for receiving call and wireless WIFI (DSL). Linens and towels are provided (changed every 4 days) and the rooms are cleaned daily (except for Sundays).
The Residence Halls have a reception room, student lounge, library, computer and study rooms, coffee shop and restaurant. Microwave and vending machines are also available as well as a coin operated laundry room on the premises. The reception desk is open 24 hours and there are security personnel on duty all times.
